My good friend David, married to Stacy, one of my best friends, passed away on April 11, 2010, at the age of 45, after a three year battle with cancer, which he fought with courage and grace. David was one of the most amazing people I've ever known: intelligent, funny, wise, insightful, and charismatic. He was larger than life, and left a big impression on everyone who met him.
As a memorial, Stacy is hosting "A Walk with David" today in Omaha, for David's friends and family to gather and share their memories. Since I can't be there, I took my own walk with David today, through the lovely, stately streets of Vienna, and used the time to reminisce and reflect. I am so grateful to have known David, and will always cherish memories of our friendship.
